(Mark Su for Congress — November 12, 2025)
On November 12, 2025, Mark Su was invited to Evanston Township High School to speak with students about the 2026 Ninth District congressional race and his campaign for Congress. This visit marked Mark Su’s first time at the more-than-100-year-old high school, and he expressed enthusiasm about engaging with over 30 students during a class session held in the school’s central library from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Following welcoming remarks from host teacher Miten, two students served as moderators for the discussion. Mark Su opened the session by introducing himself and sharing his personal and professional background. He described himself as a working-class individual, media creator, small business owner, and long-time IT consultant with more than 20 years of experience. He explained that he earned undergraduate degrees in science and completed graduate studies in computer information systems and business administration.
Mark Su also spoke about his long-standing involvement in civic engagement. More than a decade ago, he founded a media platform dedicated to supporting community initiatives and democratic participation, including coverage and support of presidential, congressional, state, and local elections. He told students that his decision to run for Congress is driven by a desire to serve as a responsible citizen and to do more for the Ninth District, the state, and the nation.
During the discussion, the student moderators asked questions about how the American political and governmental system functions today and how, if elected, Mark Su would work with members of both major political parties to address shared challenges. After his remarks, students asked additional questions on topics including campaign financing and his approach to addressing U.S. job outsourcing.

In his closing message to students, Mark Su emphasized the importance of civic awareness and participation. He noted that politics is a core part of how society functions and praised Evanston Township High School for offering students meaningful opportunities to learn about government and public policy. He encouraged young people to stay informed, care about political issues, and, when possible, become involved in public life as a way of contributing to their communities.

Mark Su concluded by highlighting education as one of the central priorities of his campaign. He expressed strong support for public schools, teachers’ unions, and stable funding for educators and faculty. Acknowledging Evanston Township High School’s 150-year history and its role in preparing students for higher education, he encouraged students to build a strong foundation in both science and the arts, and to carefully consider their choice of college majors.
As part of his education platform, Mark Su outlined policy goals that include reducing taxes on educational expenses, increasing tax deductions for families, expanding financial support for students, and strengthening the job market for new graduates—policies he says are essential to supporting students, families, and the future workforce of the Ninth District.
