(Mark Su for Congress — December 9, 2025)

On the evening of December 9, 2025, Evanston community members gathered at Reba Place Church to attend the Ninth District Congressional Candidates Forum. The event brought together 17 Democratic candidates, along with Republican candidate Mark Su, who attended and delivered remarks outlining his vision for the district.

Approximately 100 voters from Evanston, Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood, and Skokie participated in the forum. Attendees had the opportunity to meet candidates face-to-face, ask questions, and discuss the issues most important to their communities.

Mark Su spent time greeting residents and engaging directly with voters about the challenges facing the Ninth Congressional District. During his remarks, he shared the motivations behind his decision to run for Congress and highlighted the priorities of his campaign.

Each candidate was given three minutes to present their platform. Mark Su emphasized that his first priority in Congress would be to reduce hate, lower political conflict, and work toward unity between Democrats and Republicans. He also addressed key local concerns, including public safety, family housing affordability, support for small business development, and strengthening neighborhood communities across the district.

The forum marked Mark Su’s first official campaign appearance in Evanston, signaling the start of a focused effort to listen to residents and advocate for practical, bipartisan solutions for the Ninth District.
