On November 20, 2025, Mark Su for Congress hosted a ballot celebration and fundraising event at a Chengdu-style restaurant in the Ninth Congressional District. The gathering took place one week after the objection period had concluded and the ballot was officially finalized.
Mark Su entered the ballot lottery after filing his candidacy in the final hour on November 3. As a result of the lottery, he secured placement on the Republican candidates’ ballot list, marking an important milestone for the campaign.
The celebration brought together a diverse group of attendees, including candidates for Congress and state representative, as well as leaders from Chicago’s Chinese American community and members of local media. Several guests delivered remarks congratulating Mark Su on successfully qualifying for the ballot and expressing their support for his campaign and vision for the Ninth District.
The event also served as the campaign’s first official fundraising gathering since filing candidacy in Springfield. More than a dozen supporters made contributions to the Mark Su for Congress campaign, making the evening an early and meaningful fundraising success as the campaign moves forward.
